The AirBird® was ideated, designed and developed in co-creation between Leapcraft, Velux Group and GXN to make clean air more accessible, help people understand indoor air quality easily and make a positive behaviour change. 

Leapcraft brings over 8 years of technological experience in air quality measurements. They believe measuring is the first step to taking action.3XN Architects explore ways to enriching the lives of people living and working in and around  buildings. They believe that architecture shapes behaviour. VELUX roof windows have been bringing daylight and fresh air into homes around the world for the past 80 years. They help create bright, healthy and energy-efficient places in which to live, work, learn and play.

In August 2020, Mary, Her Royal Highness The Crown Princess of Denmark, Countess of Monpezat was presented with the AirBird for her home.
